Heritage Statement
Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), established by the Bangor “Fathers” in 1827, has a rich history of serving the vulnerable residents of greater Bangor. Their commitment to providing healing and care symbolizes the determination of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, founder of the Felician Sisters, to care for the poor and sick in Poland. The Felician sisters extended their ministry to America, founding many hospitals including St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, ME. The legacy and inspiration of Blessed Mary Angela is reflected in the compassionate service BNRC provides to this day.
